Ален Кар е британски автор, най-известен с книгите си за отказване от пушенето и преодоляване на други зависимости.
Роден в Лондон през 1934 година, Кар работи като счетоводител, преди да се посвети на писателската си кариера.
Той е бил запален пушач в продължение на 33 години, като е консумирал до 100 цигари на ден.
