Viktor Emil Frankl, logoterapiyi -bir varoluşsal analiz biçimini- kuran Avusturyalı bir nörolog, psikiyatrist ve Holokost hayatta kalanıydı.
1905'te doğan Frankl, İkinci Dünya Savaşı sırasında Auschwitz dahil birçok toplama kampından sağ çıktı.
Oradaki deneyimleri psikolojik kuramlarını derinden etkiledi ve yaşamda anlam arayışını temel güdüleyici güç olarak vurgulayan logoterapinin geliştirilmesine yol açtı.
Frankl çok sayıda kitap yazdı; bunlar arasında en ünlüsü İnsanın Anlam Arayışı'dır.
1997'deki ölümüne kadar ders vermeye ve yazmaya devam ederek psikoloji ve psikoterapi alanlarında kalıcı bir etki bıraktı.
