David C. Korten is a Harvard and Stanford-trained academic, author, and activist who spent over 35 years in business, academia, and international development before dedicating himself to public interest work.
After teaching at Harvard and advising development agencies across Southeast Asia, he grew disillusioned with official economic models he believed worsened poverty and environmental destruction.
Returning to the U.S. in 1992, he became a prominent voice for systemic change, co-founding YES! Magazine and authoring several influential books, including When Corporations Rule the World.
His work is widely taught in universities around the world.
