متولد 1925

روان‌شناسی

ویلیام گلاسر روانپزشک و روان‌درمانگر برجسته آمریکایی بود که تئوری انتخاب و واقعیت درمانی را به‌طور گسترده‌ای توسعه داد.
او بر این باور بود که افراد مسئول انتخاب‌های خود هستند و می‌توانند با اتخاذ تصمیمات صحیح، کیفیت زندگی خود را بهبود بخشند.
گلاسر بر اهمیت روابط سالم و تأمین نیازهای اساسی انسان تأکید ویژه‌ای داشت.
او بیش از 25 کتاب تألیف کرد و در سخنرانی‌های متعددی به تبیین نظریات خود پرداخت.
دیدگاه‌های او در زمینه‌های روانشناسی، آموزش و مدیریت تأثیر عمیقی بر جای گذاشت.
گلاسر در سال 1392 (2013 میلادی) درگذشت، اما میراث او در تئوری انتخاب همچنان در حوزه‌های مختلف مورد استفاده قرار می‌گیرد.
