گری لاچمن نویسنده و موسیقیدان آمریکایی است که به خاطر آثارش در زمینه‌ی عرفان و علوم غیبی شناخته می‌شود.
او در سال ۱۳۳۴ در نیوجرسی به دنیا آمد و یکی از اعضای بنیان‌گذار گروه راک بلوندی بود که در آن به نواختن گیتار بیس می‌پرداخت.
پس از ترک صنعت موسیقی، لاچمن به نوشتن روی آورد و کتاب‌ها و مقالات متعددی در موضوعات اسطوره‌شناسی و عرفان تولید کرد.
آثار او به بررسی موضوعاتی چون آگاهی، تاریخ علوم غیبی و شخصیت‌های تأثیرگذار در عرفان غربی می‌پردازد.
پیشینه‌ی لاچمن در فرهنگ عامه و مطالعات غیبی به او دیدگاهی منحصر به فرد می‌دهد که امکان برقراری ارتباط بین تحقیقات دانشگاهی و مخاطبان عمومی را فراهم می‌آورد.
او به صدای محترمی در زمینه‌ی ادبیات عرفانی تبدیل شده است.
