کاس آر.
سانستین، یکی از برجسته‌ترین حقوقدانان آمریکایی است که در زمینه‌های حقوق اساسی، حقوق اداری و اقتصاد رفتاری تخصص دارد.
او به مدت ۲۷ سال در دانشکده حقوق دانشگاه شیکاگو تدریس کرده و در حال حاضر استاد حقوق در دانشکده حقوق هاروارد است.
سانستین در دولت اوباما به عنوان مدیر دفتر اطلاعات و امور مقررات کاخ سفید فعالیت داشته است.
تخصص او حوزه‌های مختلف حقوقی از جمله حقوق محیط زیست و حقوق و اقتصاد رفتاری را در بر می‌گیرد.
آثار سانستین تأثیر قابل توجهی بر نظریه حقوق و سیاست‌های عمومی داشته است، به‌ویژه در به‌کارگیری بینش‌های رفتاری در قانون و مقررات.
