Erich Fromm
Erich Fromm fue un psicólogo social, psicoanalista y filósofo germano-estadounidense.
Nacido en 1900, huyó de la Alemania nazi y se estableció en los Estados Unidos.
Fromm estuvo asociado con la Escuela de Frankfurt de teoría crítica y ayudó a fundar el Instituto William Alanson White de Psiquiatría, Psicoanálisis y Psicología en la ciudad de Nueva York.
Su trabajo combinó de manera única las teorías freudianas y marxistas, explorando la interacción entre la psicología y la sociedad.
Fromm ocupó cátedras de psicología en los Estados Unidos y México durante mediados del siglo XX. Argumentaba que el carácter humano estaba moldeado tanto por impulsos biológicos (según Freud) como por sistemas sociales y económicos (según Marx).
