William Hope Hodgson
William Hope Hodgson was a prolific English author whose work spanned horror, fantastic fiction, and science fiction, encompassing novels, short stories, and essays.
Drawing from his experience as a sailor, he produced numerous sea-based stories alongside supernatural and cosmic horror tales.
Early in his career, he devoted effort to poetry, though few poems were published during his lifetime.
He also gained recognition as a photographer and bodybuilder.
Hodgson served in the British Army during World War One and died tragically at age 40 at Ypres, killed by German artillery fire, cutting short a remarkable literary career.
