جون كابات-زين

وُلد في 1944

يُعتبر جون كابات-زين، الحاصل على درجة الدكتوراه، من الرواد في دمج اليقظة الذهنية ضمن الطب والرعاية الصحية التقليدية.
فقد أسس وأدار مركز اليقظة الذهنية في كلية الطب بجامعة ماساتشوستس، حيث طور برنامج تقليل التوتر القائم على اليقظة الذهنية (MBSR).
كتب كابات-زين العديد من المؤلفات التي تُرجمت إلى أكثر من ثلاثين لغة، والتي تتناول موضوعات اليقظة الذهنية.
تتركز أبحاثه على التفاعل بين العقل والجسد في عمليات الشفاء، بالإضافة إلى التطبيقات السريرية لتأمل اليقظة الذهنية.
نال العديد من الجوائز تقديرًا لجهوده، وقام بتدريب مجموعات متنوعة تشمل رؤساء تنفيذيين وقضاة ورياضيين أولمبيين على ممارسة اليقظة.
كما يشارك كابات-زين في تعزيز الحوار بين العلماء الغربيين والدالاي لاما من خلال معهد العقل والحياة.
