آدم سميث
آدم سميث، الفيلسوف والاقتصادي الإسكتلندي الذي وُلد عام 1723، كان شخصية محورية في عصر التنوير الإسكتلندي.
يُعرف سميث بمساهماته البارزة في مجال الاقتصاد السياسي، حيث قدم من خلال أعماله رؤى عميقة أثرت في الفكر الاقتصادي والسياسات على مدى قرون.
من أشهر مؤلفاته كتاب "نظرية المشاعر الأخلاقية" و"تحقيق في طبيعة وأسباب ثروة الأمم".
ويُعتبر الأخير، المعروف اختصارًا بـ "ثروة الأمم"، عمله الأبرز وأول دراسة حديثة شاملة للاقتصاد كعلم أكاديمي مستقل.
تناول سميث في هذا الكتاب مفاهيم الأسواق الحرة، وتقسيم العمل، و"اليد الخفية"، التي شكلت أساسًا لفهمنا للاقتصاد وأسهمت في تطوير السياسات الاقتصادية عبر الزمن.
